Rightra¶
Rightra is a content protection and rights intelligence platform. It assigns every digital work a persistent identity and connects that identity to ownership, licensing, authorized playback, leak detection, and case management.
Capabilities¶
| Capability | Description |
|---|---|
| Registration | The browser SDK encrypts a file segment by segment and sends the ciphertext to storage you control. Rightra stores the manifest URL and issues a content ID in the form RTR-XXXX-XXXX. |
| Protected playback | Each viewing starts a playback session with its own decryption key and watermark code. The player decrypts segments in the browser and applies three watermark layers. |
| Leak detection | Submit a leaked file to the extractor. Rightra reads the watermark code and returns the originating session, viewer, and content. |
| Case management | The console tracks ownership, licenses, detections, and evidence for each work. |
Architecture¶
Rightra does not host media. Encrypted segments stay on your own storage, which can be a PHP host, S3, R2, Cloudinary, Bunny, or any HTTP server. Rightra stores the manifest URL, the sealed encryption key, and the session and watermark records.
| Component | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Browser SDK | Encryption, playback, and watermarking |
| Server SDK or helper | Upload token minting, storage signing, and API access from your backend |
| Rightra API | Content registry, key custody, sessions, and extraction |
